911 for Nathaniel

This is Grandma Jeannette. On Friday night Nathaniel had a very bad reaction to 1/2 of a cashew, we think. His tongue started burning, his lips swelled a little, and he got a large hive on his wrist. Grandpa Harold and I gave him Benedryl, the hive got much smaller, and we thought he was getting better. He said he was tired and went upstairs to lie down. Mom had just come from work to pick him up at our house, and in a few minutes she went upstairs to check on him. He had hives all over his body except his face and was wheezing a little. I helped him use his albuterol inhaler, but not much got in him. After he started vomiting, Harold called 911. The fire department (crew of 4) and the ambulance (crew of 2) came and administered oxygen with albuterol in it. He was transported to Providence St. Vincent with Mom. After awhile, he was given more Benedryl and Prednisone, and the hives went away. He was released from the ER, and we got home about 11 pm. We're going to get him in for allergy testing ASAP. The picture is of Nathaniel in the ER after he was feeling better.
