Captain Nathaniel

Tuesday, my parents took Nathaniel sailing. Here is the info my mom emailed me about the trip:

The marshmallows were very sticky and quite a mess. I don't know if they got smashed on the way or what, but we ended up throwing the rest of them away. We made S'mores (minus the chocolate for Nathaniel). Really, he just liked the marshmallows plain (not toasted) and lots of graham crackers.

Grandpa Harold & Nathaniel played Nathaniel's Cranium Matching Madness game in the morning while Grandmother slept in.

Nathaniel liked to go from the cockpit up to the foredeck, then go down the hatch, run through the cabin, then go up to the cockpit and then do it all over again--many times.

He could stand on the cushions in the V-berth (in the bow) & look out through the hatch while we were sailing.

The bridge in the background is the I-205 Bridge.

Sitting up big boy

Saturday Tabor was officially 6 months old. I took him to his 6 month check up today. He weighed 21 lbs and is 28 1/2 inches long. According to Dr. Snyder he is in the 95% for his age. Tabor has been sitting up like a big boy for about a week. He just sits and drools while playing with his toys. He is such a sweet baby.

Goodbye Carol Anne

On Sunday, Mike said goodbye to his beloved 1974 Plymouth Duster. For the people who aren't into to cars, she doesn't look like much. But to Mike and car lovers everywhere she is something special. Carol Anne was bought by his friend Greg. Greg and a friend are sharing custody of her. When they got to the Rodden's to buy her, the friend pulled up in a Cuda. Again nothing to people who aren't interested in cars. But to muscle car lovers it's a dream come true. All in all Carol Anne will be loved. For anybody who can answer this, why do men name cars?

Nathaniel and Grandfather

My mom and Harold took Nathaniel to Seaside on Tuesday. They stayed overnight. My mom emailed me some pictures. I just loved these. Nathaniel has always been Harold's buddy.

Star Wars is taking over my house and life

On Saturday, Nathaniel turned 7. He also had his birthday party that day. He had it at Grandpa and Grandma Rodden's. He had a great time. They had a new tree fort/play thing built out there. Few of his guests were Great Grandma and Grandpa Whipps, Grandma and Grandpa Whipps, Aunt Hannah, Cousin Issac and some of his friends. Some people asked what Nathaniel was into or would like. I could think of nothing but Star Wars stuff. Mike decided that he might like the Star Wars movies. Mike also decided that it is about time that I watched them. So, for six weeks every Wednesday night we had Star Wars movie night. Nathaniel loved it! He decided he likes Darth Vader the best. I think he might have teared up a little when he died. Since the first one, all he has talked about is Star Wars. A few Star Wars items he got were Star Wars monopoly, 2 light sabers, Legos, and action figures. I think with the amount of stuff we have between Mike and Nathaniel, we could open our own Star Wars store. I think I know more about Star Wars then I ever have wanted to know in my life.

I am 7 years old

This is the first picture I took of Nathaniel being 7. I can't believe that he is already 7 years old. It makes me a little sad to see he is growning up. He doesn't want me to hold his had in public anymore. On rare occasions, he will let me cuddle him. But he still wants a hug and kiss goodnight.

I don't think I like peas

I was feeding Tabor peas for dinner tonight. I don't think he likes them very much. He ate it off the spoon then he made a face and pushed the peas back out of his mouth. He did it 2 or 3 more times. He also made a sound like he was gagging from the taste. It also sounded like a growl. I bet he will be glad when his weeks worth of peas is gone.

Thursdays with Grandma Laurie

On Thursdays, Grandma Laurie watches the boys. They do all kinds of fun stuff together. Such as going to the park, the library, taking walks, playing boardgames and whatever else they can come up with. Today, they went on a walk and picked blackberries for Auntie Tiff''s birthday pie. Auntie Tiff prefers birthday pie instead of birthday cake.

Since Grandma Laurie stays until I get home from work she frequently offers to stay and hold Tabor so I can eat dinner. It's very nice of her to do so seeing she has at least an hour drive home. Tonight, while I was eating my dinner she feed Tabor. He is on peas this week. I don't think he enjoyed them as much as green beans or his carrots.

Wilsonville Days

A few pictures from Wilsonville Days.

Flugtag

Yesterday, Mike went to the Red Bull Flugtag. He had a great time. Nathaniel was originally going to go with him but decided against it. When Mike got home and showed him the pictures Nathaniel had wished he had gone. He also made a stop at Voodoo Doughnuts and got the Voodoo dozen.

Nathaniel did end up going to Wilsonville Days. It was a free event for mostly for kids. It was in Town Center Park. It had shallow fountain that kids could play in. They were over 100 vendors at the event. Such as banks, credit unions, kid's dentist offices, local churches and local businesses that were kid related. They also had live music and inflatable play things. They all had things you could do at each booth like spin the wheel, toss a ball, fishing or golf for prizes. I think Nathaniel had the most fun in the fountain.

My little boys

I try all the time to get cute pictures of my boys. I either get Nathaniel smiling and Tabor making a weird face. And sometimes it's the other way around. This week my mom lucked out and got both my boys smiling. Thanks mom!
